Laser Pointers or High Speed Data Links?
In places around the Wi-Fi isn't Allowed because of machinery and other intruments. For an example, A hospital has sensitive machine that cant be disturbed by Wi-Fi and so the way to communicate is a USB 2.0 cable to hook up all the computers. But now a scientist has figured how to send information across 30 feet with out Wi-Fi. Using laser pointers they send information across 30 feet and the data rate is over twice as much as the USB 2.0. Thee set up cost is not that much either because it only costs about $600. The error of the new technology is 1 million or of 500 million bit per second. This may be the beginning of a new era. http://www.popsci.com/science/article/2012-05/high-speed-data-link-made-laser-pointers-works-where-wi-fi-wont
